Productive day

Wow, today was really productive for me. Let’s see.. I started out with a CS309 exam, which I think I did pretty well on. Well.. I hope so.

Then I made 3 phone calls I’ve been meaning to make in a long time. I ordered Chanhassen tickets for July (got them for $30 less than I was expecting!!!). I cancelled my evil CreditInform. And I made… um… another call that I’ve been meaning to do. Then I drove an empty cardinal bus for 3 hours. w00t.

Finally I came home and started on my CS362 take-home, quickly realizing that I should’ve started a lot earlier. Oh well… I finished that up too. My other grades in that class have been really good, so I’m not super-worried about it.

I can go to sleep in peace finally! Well… until Friday morning.

Pop cans and facial hair

So… I realized that pop cans now cost exactly the same as bottles in terms of $/oz, so I’ll try buying those from now on to cut back.

But I also realized, I can’t drink from cans in my usual freaky matter because of my furry face. I can’t form a seal on the can to get anything out of it.

Anyway, I said I should update. So here it was. Maybe I’ll put something more productive in later.

End-of-semester blues

CprE 305: Project due next Friday that I barely started today
ComS 309: Project due dead week that we actually have started on, but not much
ComS 362: Project due ??? that no one has done ANYTHING on yet
Music304: Paper due in less than 2 weeks that I haven’t started.

I’m quite ready for summer… can I just time-jump there now?

Karma

Wow…. so about 2 hours after I made that post (the day after the event)… I bought a package of wheat thins…. there was already one pack stuck in the machine, so when mine dropped, I ended up getting 2 for 1. Plus I got a raspberry cookie thingie that was hanging out next to the wheat thins. Sweet! 🙂

Honesty

Hrmm, well I suppose my morals are strong…. yesterday I saw a vending machine that was unlocked… The thing had already stolen a quarter from me, so I felt like some kind of retribution. My conscience finally kicked in, and I re-locked the machine. Sometime I think I’m too nice of a guy.

Immune system getting a workout

I swear, a couple more years of visiting the Weber farm and I’ll be immune to anything. I seem to come down with something different each time I go there. Actually lately I seem to be getting assaulted too, but I’m told that means they’re accepting me as one of the family. Still, RC cars leave a mark on your skull… (JK Webers, I’m not upset or anything!)

Naw, I like going to her house. I finally have the names of her 10 siblings (Theresa, Jenny, Abby, Katie, Mike, Anna, Ben, Becca, Jared, Louis) and her parents down, and I’m slowly learning the names of her ten million relatives. I still haven’t gotten any good "farm" experience, but one of these days this city-boy is gonna learn how to milk cows (Insert Cledus T. Judd song here) and help out with other stuff. I’m up at 5am anyway… I figure I might as well learn something!

This weekend was mainly for me to meet Abby again, though I only saw her for about 5 minutes. They had a party for her on Sunday afternoon, so I met a bunch of relatives too. Took Amanda to a Lutheran church that we both got kinda weirded out about. Then we got stuck in the mud ’cause her car’s such a lightweight and the lot was new soil/gravel. Think maybe I can live through the Catholic services, or we could try the other church she talked about. Meh. I guess we both find traditional Catholic and Lutheran services very liturgical, and we don’t get as much out of them as we do from places like Cornerstone here in Ames or the baptist church she goes to in Wisconsin. Maybe that’s it. We’ll both become Baptist. 🙂

Anyway, good weekend. I’m sick on and off… mostly just a bad cold: running nose, sore throat, head-in-a-bubble. Probably a virus or something. I’ll get over it soon. Yay!

Wow

So, yesterday… I woke up and was reading ST, when I scrolled down to the bottom of a thread and suddenly noticed I had extra buttons. I went back out to the main page and just about jumped out of my seat when I saw Moderators: Russ, DigiMuzik listed at the top of the comptuers forum. (Jumping out of my seat is not a common event at 7:30am)

Rumor has it that I was reccomended by a former mod and super-cool-friend. Well, I’ll try to do a good job 🙂 . I’ve already started cleaning the Stuff for Sale/Wanted sticky, and I spent most of yesterday making a new FAQ which, in my humble opinion, is quite nice. Easier to navigate at least. Next on the agenda: locking random threads. 🙂

Uh… yeah. just kidding about that one.

Don’t Park in Bus Stops!

I had fun with this guy who parked in the Park’s Library bus stop (no pun intended in this story). He wouldn’t move when I got on his bumper, so I pulled around him and pulled into the stop, effectively cutting him off. I was early so I had to sit for a minute while he couldn’t get around me. Then I finally take off and go to Beardshear. There’s no one there, but it’s a mandatory stop, so he gets to wait some more. I’m about to leave when I see 3 people run out of Carver, so being the super-nice bus driver that I am, I wait for them. Sorry dude, I’m doing customer SERVICE right now. All in all I probably only held up the guy for 3 or 4 minutes, but he sped off once I got to the Union.

Don’t park in bus stops. We’re bigger than you are.

The fun part, is I wasn’t really bullying him either. Just doing my job. If he would’ve gotten out of the stop when I pulled up, he wouldn’t have had to wait for me. Anyway…. made my night by making me smile.
