One of my sixth-grade writing projects I found and HAD to put on my site.

Sixth – Would You Believe I wasn’t on Ritalin?

Hello! how are you today?? I am fine. It’s FFFFFRRRRRIIIIIDDDDAAAAYYY!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! I wish Miss Kentopp wouldn’t have to leave. Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! I would like to have a Christmas fake book. I learned from Mrs. Rezabec what a fake book is. It’s a book that has melodies and chords so you make up your own accompaniment. I need that for my keyboard and piano too. With my keyboard, though, I play the melodies with my right hand, an I play the chords with my left hand. The keyboard will automaticly make up an accompaniment. There are 103 accompaniments that I can choose from. There are 128 sounds I can play on it (not counting the drums). I have 1 book that has about 15 christmas songs in it. I know about 10 of them! The book that Mrs. Rezabec has has about 148 songs in it!

Sixth – Christmas Activities

Last night I decorated cookies with Mrs. Buxton. After that I went across the street and played handbells. First I played with the adult choir. Then our children’s choir director must have had his flight delayed, because he was not there to play bells along with half of our choir. Ron Peterson directed us. After the children’s choir My quartet played. Lisa Beane was missing, so I had to fill in on one song. Just let me tell you that it is much harder to fill in for a quartet piece than iot is to fill in for just plain bell choir. After the Christmas windows, my family and I went to “A Christmas Carol”. The performers were on tour in the Midwest. My mom, dad, and I all agreed athat it was really worth the money. It was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw Kay Gjerdingan and Mrs. Darrah there. Aunt and Uncle Ilene and Don came with us also. They loved it too. I’m really looking forward to this weekend. Gotta go! See ya!!

Sixth – Music Talk

Last night i talked with my dad about future purchases. Last year I purchased a keyboard. This year my family purchased a computer. Now I am planning to purchase these three things (in order as they appear): Microphone and stand, Mixer and Speaker. This way I can sing when I play my keyboard, and also record with better quality. I told my dad and my mom that I would try to work on (possibly for New Year’s Resolutions) saying `I would like’ instead of `I want’, and `purchase’ in stead of `buy’. I have been playing on my keyboard a lot lately. I have also been playing on my piano a lot lately too. For my 12th birthday I got a file cabinet to put my innumerable piano books in. Tonight i get to go downtown and make Christmas cookies in B.E. mick’s window from 6:00 to 6:30. Then I get to play in the adult bell choir from 6:30 to 7:00. Then I play in the children’s bell choir from 7:00 to 7:30. After that I play with my bell quartet from 7:30 to 7:45. In the adult quartet I play with the director’s (Ron Peterson) daughter on `G’, `A’, `B’, `C’, and `D’. Last night, though, she had to fill in for someone who was sick so I got to play all of them alone. It was fun! I hope I can do it again tonight!

Sixth – December Ramblings

Mrs. Mehman wanted me to compose on the computer, so I am! I was working on the Works’ tutorial when she suggested that I compuse on the computer. I have typed up all of my writer’s workshop stories on the computer so now I have to compose. Mary had a little lamb. It’s fleece was white as snow. Adam Ebert’s favorite word is Coooooooooooooooollll!! I don’t want to go home! When i go home I have to do a paper route. I almost hate it, but I love it. Since there is snow on the ground today I think my mom will take me. The printer is backed up. I don’t know why kids print so much! A couple weeks ago I went to my disk and I printed some of my old files from last year. Oops!!!!!!! I love the month of December. December is my favorite month. I guess it’s because of Christmas. Not that I like it only because I get presents (Although I do like that), I like it because it’s joyful. Judy (I don’t know her last name, but she goes to our church) taught me how to play Christmas songs really neat on the keyboard. She has two keyboards, and she is planning to get another one from a relative of hers.
