Capital of Alaska!

Hoy! That took a whole minute to login! Amanda says I’ll just have to type quickly.

We’re about half-way through our cruise and things are going very well. There have been a couple downers (including an incident which re-inforces my dislike of all things salad-y). Plus I’ve been fighting a cold since we got on the ship. Drugs are nice though, and Amanda’s been kind enough to put up with my sneezing.

Yesterday’s horse-trolley tour of Ketchikan was pretty neat. We got a lot of great pictures and a few videos. Actually, I’ve been taking tons these days…hopefully some look okay on a computer screen. After making Amanda climb a huge staircase in town, we got back on the boat for an early-afternoon departure. Oh… almost forgot… we did ride a minivan to and from the local Wal-Mart just for fun! (Amanda’s rolling her eyes at me) I got some more cold pills and we picked up some licorice.

We haven’t missed a dinner yet, although I was feeling rather crummy for formal night a couple nights ago. Last night’s dinner options were pretty exotic, but we still went and found something we both liked. We tried out the pizzeria yesterday for lunch, and it, too, was top of the line.

We rode the big Mt. Roberts tramway in Juneau this morning and got some great aerial shots (spell checking later when I’m not paying per second) of the ship and the capital. Cell phones worked too! Now we’re off to free lunch on the ship and then back into Juneau to check out the bus system and do some shopping.

Adios!!!
