So… I only have this week, next week (dead week), and finals (only one final), and then I’m done with 22 years of education. Wow.
Okay, so it really hasn’t quite sunk in, but around this time each semester, I usually post about what I have left to do. I’m also usually quite stressed about it. Not at all this semester. Maybe it’s the senioritis; maybe it’s just because all my classes are more or less done. But I’m definitely relaxing and not too worried about these last few days. I have two exams and two presentations left. That’s pretty much it. Detailed remaining activities follow…
- CprE 308 (Operating Systems) – Easy lab to finish up this Thursday and then a little 2%-of-our-grade quiz on Friday. I’ve never done too well on the others no matter how hard I studied, so I won’t fret about this one too much. This is the class I have a final in, though, so I will probably spend some of next week and definitely Monday of finals studying up for it. I did pretty well on the midterm, so I’m not too worried about the final.
- CprE 483 (HW/SW Integration) – I actually had a “final” in this class today. It was only worth 10% of our grade, so it wasn’t a big deal. Our project is pretty much completed; we just have to add one “extra” feature and give a 15-minute presentation in class. “This is a datapath…that looks exactly like all the other groups’ datapaths…..”
- CprE 485 (Java) – So… I have a B in this course if I don’t do the 300-point final project. This definitely put that project on the back burner, although I started looking at it this afternoon and ended up spending a few hours actually completing it. It’s proably a good thing I’m getting a job in software… I can get really into it and enjoy what I’m doing (provided I know the language instead of google-ing something up every five minutes). I’ll give it another hour later this week, scratch up a report, and call it good.
- CprE 491 (Senior Design) – Well, the final report was due a few weeks ago, so we haven’t had too much to do since. I had a week off for my job interviews and other fun stuff. Our pregnant team member is no longer pregnant… she’s a mama! We are planning to integrate the water sensor and the GUI, but otherwise, we just have a presentation next Tuesday that is more or less a repeat of what we did in class.
- CprE 532 (Information Warfare) – I’m way behind in lecture-viewing. (Tuesdays are for catching up on that…) We have a final next Thursday. It’s open book/notes/google, and since I’ve done well on the other four 53x exams I’ve taken, I’m not too worried about this one either.
- CprE … wait, nope. That’s it. I’m done. On to bigger and better things!
I could have sworn primary education was grades K-6, Secondary was 7-12, and I suppose you could call this Tertiary…
