I still remember how to drive a car!

Since I’ll probably be in Ames for the next two months, this weekend was my last chance to get up to the Farley area to see Amanda’s family and get some much needed wedding planning accomplished. It was a rather strange sensation to get into my car and drive around a bit, considering I haven’t driven in almost a month…ish. Okay, so maybe not quite that long, but I certainly won’t be driving quite as much now that I’m not driving a bus. *sigh*

Random ramblings follow…

In other, random, computer-related news, I was supposed to be checking out Jenny’s (Amanda’s sister’s) computer because supposedly it wasn’t working. I started a Win98 dos-prompt scandisk surface scan… the first thing I noticed when it showed the drive map was, “That’s a lot of B’s.” As it took an hour to scan the first half of her 6-gig drive, the program found 40 more bad sectors before giving some kind of “deep file system” error message. I was able to log into Windows and run an overnight scan from Windows…. but I think it’s safe to say the drive is toast. Should’ve brought a Knoppix CD eh?

Anyway, we’re having a fun Valentine’s weekend here… getting oil changed and other fun stuff. We have a gift certificate to Olive Garden, so we’re going to indulge ourselves there!
