Well that does it for my cardinal-driving days. Just finished driving my Monday night cardinal shift. Since there’s no school next week, and this is the only time I have cardinal, I never have to drive it again!

It’s kind of funny. I’ve been waiting for a low-floor on cardinal route all year, and on my last cardinal shift, I get one. Unfortunately, I hadn’t driven it for a month, and thanks to the new snow all over the place, the roads were much narrower than usual. It was the perfect time for them to give me the largest bus in our fleet! But I didn’t take out any cars or snowbanks and only tried to take out one person (happens about once a month… someone decides to jump out from behind a car in front of you as you’re pulling away from a bus stop). All in all, a pretty uneventful shift.

I did find out some humorous news. Apparently, my “push-over” story from last month was read at a staff meeting, so someone from around there found my site and shared it with everyone else…. I don’t know if it was a good or a bad thing, but there was some memo up about gaining information about passengers who try to ride with an improper fare. I guess several people have been complaining about similar situations. Too bad I don’t have to deal with it after next Saturday!!!

…though next Saturday will certainly be interesting… the fare-free bus stops on campus become non-fare-free on weekends. Can’t wait to see some happy people then! I just hope they hand out the sheets this weekend to prepare people for it.
